Daily Devotion Day 43

What happened in the garden of Eden was not a mistake. God had a plan, and it was perfect. God created the trees in the garden. When He created them, He said, "it was good." So the trees, all of them were good in His eyes. There was no evil tree. They all had an intentional purpose .

God does not make mistakes. These trees had one thing in common. They were sources of food. Unfortunately for us, the first tree that Eve ate was of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In other words, it was a tree of information. It was simply knowledge, like the Google search engine on our computers.

Both trees have the same information with two entirely different natures. One, Godly or spiritual - the Tree of Life, and the other natural or without God's influence on it - the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Note that the tree Eve ate was not evil but appealed to the five senses of a natural life. Its source of strength was natural and flowed from the outside and through her senses. It was good to taste.

The Tree of Life appeals to the spirit and is designed to come now from God's strength through the Holy Spirit from the inside out. Jesus represents the Tree of Life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Without Him, we can not get a proper meaning of the information coming to us through our five senses. We need His spirit in us to interpret it. Jesus had the likeness of the Father and interpreted information from His Father's character. Jesus interpreted information with the spirit of Truth coming from inside His spirit. God intends for us to operate this way also.

Have you experienced a time when information from the world took on a different meaning after running it by the word of God? Or when you looked at a situation through the lens of the fruits of the Spirit and your whole outlook changed? Ask the Holy Spirit to bring this to your remembrance when faced with information from your five senses. Not all of what we see, hear, taste, and touch is truth! We need to run it by the Tree of Life to get the truth!
