Daily Devotional Day 42

Satan beguiled Eve in the garden of Eden. Simply put, he tricked her. He is still doing it today to her descendants, men and women. Just how did he beguile Eve? Satan's main methods are distraction and deception. The word of God does not credit sin to Eve. Only the fact that she was beguiled. She was enticed, charmed and captivated through her five senses. Adam was the one that sinned. That is why Adam is referred to as the first sinner.

We often think that if we do not sin, then we are fine in life. You will fail if you think that. Our goal oftentimes is merely to remove sin from our lives so that we can be in God's perfect will. But it just isn't that simple. The point is you do not have to sin to be beguiled. The same process that happened in the garden to Eve, happens to us all day long, distraction and deception. If we are distracted long enough, deceived by the lies of the enemy, sin will follow. Satan wants to separate us from the voice of God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what is distracting you and deceiving you. Ask Him to empower you to avoid the distractions and challenge the deceptions with His word and power.
