Daily Devotional Day 49

God's wisdom and truth comes with the fruits of His spirit - kindness, long-suffering, love etc. That's what makes the difference between information from the world and from God. We can turn the truth into a lie by eliminating His influence. This is the worldly wisdom spoken of in the word of God. God was left out of the conversation between Eve and Satan. Had she eaten of the Tree of Life first, she would have had the ability to filter the information through God's view and character.

That's what the Tree of Life represents - God's view. One tree, the Tree of Life, propagates spiritual life and God's character. The other, the tree of knowledge of good and evil, comes from and strengthens our self life, our natural man. It is a matter of two entirely different natures. When we decide to ignore God's expressed will because it takes faith, we rely on ourselves. We believe reliance on information gives us security and faith does not give us the security that information gives us. We are left to ourselves, disconnected from God.

Ask the Holy Spirit to empower your faith and trust in Him. Ask Him to show you the difference between His knowledge and the knowldge of the world.

Ask the Holy Spirit for His interpretation of information today. Ask for His wisdom and guidance throughout the day.
