Daily Devotional Day 76

The Bible states that Paul the apostle desired to "present every man perfect or complete in Jesus Christ." (Colossians, Hebrews) The aim was always the same to bring His people to their new position as sons. Jesus was the prototype for mankind. We have been building the structure of the church without the commitment to fulfill the very reason for the structure. The end result of the Gospel is supposed to be "the perfection of the saints for the work of the ministry" (Ephesians 4).

The aim of the salvation experience that Jesus Christ provided for us is clearly stated as completion or perfection. ( 1Peter 1)

God's people are meant to experience this before the second return of Christ. If not, then why did all the writings of the New Testament tell us to work towards and expect perfection? (Hebrews 6) Furthermore, if the plan to bring many sons to glory or His likeness was going to fail, then why would Jesus bother? The end time harvest won't happen without God's people achieving perfection. Perfection is for this time in the history of the church. These terms perfection and completion are spoken in the Old and New Testament many times as the intended result of the Gospel.

Perfection is the sum total of all the work done in God's people. It is the final accomplishment and more than the garden experience through the work of Jesus Christ. Completion or perfection comes from the inside out through the power of the Holy Spirit. Christ provided all we need to fulfill and equip us to live this life. The second coming of Christ occurs only after that very mission has been accomplished in His church.

Jesus did not come to fail and will not. He provided this full salvation for anyone who will believe and overcome. It is time now for all of us to reach perfection. Only after this mission is accomplished can we begin to rule with Him. We will rule in our personal lives and in the second coming of Christ when all things are put under His feet. In order to restore the fallen world, all of us need to be in harmony with Christ, not just a select few.

It will, of course, demand that we be completely reconciled and connected back to the voice of the Lord through the work of the Holy Spirit. That is the final result of completion or perfection. That is what "life worth living" is all about. It is restoring the spiritual walk to the people of God. This is what God intended for all of us. Let this be our aim!

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the Father's heart and the fullness of perfection.
