Daily Devotional Day 91

The problem we have today is the same as outlined in the Bible. In Numbers 32, it describes the attitude that God's people had. They wanted to stay on the wilderness side of the Jordan River simply because it seemed easier for them at that time. While facing the enemies, they looked at their outside circumstances and came to their own conclusions as to what was best for them. They refused the discomfort of moving forward in faith.
Today, as we look at moving forward, it also looks easier for us to stay the same, but this is delusional thinking and destructive in nature. They said at the time, "but there are giants in the land." Joshua and Caleb did not deny the fact of the Giants but looked on the greatness of the God they served. They had the experiences to back them up. They had seen the pillar of fire, the cloud by day , the manna, not to mention the water coming out of a rock. The people who stayed behind died on the desert floor. We will do the same if we stay where we are as God's church. We are His called out ones that is what church means. God is taking peace from the earth, and the only way we will find that peace today is from inside out. The only way is to cross the Jordan River through faith and enter the land that He promised us. The promised land of rest is inside us!
Ask the Holy Spirit what you need to leave behind in order to enter the Promised Land of Rest. What holds you back? Ask Holy Spirit for the faith and power to move forward.
