Daily Devotional Day 92
When they were in Moab, the children of Israel's enemy wanted to stop them from entering the Promised Land. He used the prophet Balaam to curse them. It means to denounce or marginalize them in public. The purpose was to demoralize them and dispirit them. It was meant to take the very spiritual energy out of them they needed for salvation. We can see this happening today. We see this happening throughout the world and, yes, even in our Christian communities.
Satan is trying to marginalize God's people and block from obtaining completion or perfection. He does not want God's people "walking in the earth as Jesus walked in the earth" (1st John). We see this happening to God's people individually and corporately. The enemy wants to marginalize us and weaken us because he knows he has a short time left.
Balaam, the prophet was taken to three different mountaintops to see and curse God's people. Think of it, three different perspectives that may be used to defeat us. These perspectives can keep you out of everything that God has for you. In every instance, Balaam could not do anything but bless them. It says Balaam looked with his eyes open. Right now, the enemy would like to curse us, but God has something better. He wants us to open our eyes to what He has provided for us. He wants us to open up to a new way of living "the life worth living."
Ask the Holy Spirit to uncover the schemes of the enemy. Meditate and focus on the promises of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the way and strengthen your spirit on your journey to the Promised Land and a life worth living.
