Daily Devotional Day 94

Many times, the more powerful the influence the church can give to our senses from the outside (music, preaching, programs etc) the better the ministry is graded for value and performance. We grade churches by numbers, programs, and showmanship. Granted outside influence is important.

However, it must lead to something deeper than that. It is time to refocus on what the gospel is all about. We should continue to keep our eyes on the goal of the gospel and not just the means of reaching out to people with church structure and activities.

The goal of the gospel is to help influence people to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit from inside out and return the voice of God in our lives. The gospel is the good news of salvation and transformation through belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is restoration to the abiding life, a life in Christ, the life worth living!

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you ways you can nurture your personal relationship with Christ.
