Our soul refers to our mind, emotions, and will. Our spirit is our deepest self, where we can commune with God. No matter how highly developed our soul is, if our spirit is abnormal and weak, it loses control, and our whole life will fail to reflect our true purpose in life. That is why we can see highly educated people become totally out of control. There are many ministers, lawyers, doctors, and educators in our prisons living wrecked lives, unhealthy and/or unhappy. The condition of our spirit, not our soul, determines the condition of our lives. This is why we need the Holy Spirit inside of us and His influence in our lives.

Ask Holy Spirit to show you the condition of your spirit and life? Where are you unhealthy? In what areas of life are you allowing His influence, and what areas are you not? Invite Him into those areas. Are you living out your God-given purpose?
