Jesus came to give us the "salvation package". When each part of this package is continually applied to our lives by faith in this process properly and each at the appropriate time, we can live the life that He came to give us. Some are be able and committed to this new life and I certainly want to be one of them. Some will settle for the "Carnal life" because it is easier and less disciplined.
First, we must be frustrated with our own inabilities, and become desperate for His strength to overcome, in the same way we first came to Him. As the prodigal son, failure is the first part of salvation, and continues to be until we are completely living our lives “in Him", not merely having Him in us, taking Him where we are going"!
Then, He will identify with us, and work together with us to overcome by the almighty power of His resurrection, in any area hindering us, one by one. Each area of our lives must be reined into harmony with the Holy Spirit. Then this power will be ours continually.
Our complete salvation comes as we embrace each part of the package. By continual embraceing the death fo our cross is the only way out of this natural strength, and into His! We are born with this natural strength, and we live with it for as long as we are on this earth. It is a momentary process to overcome it, and it is not a one-time event. It is a lifestyle.
Jesus came and brought that death and resurrection for us through His sacrifice. He died, so that we could too. He rose, that we would also rise in newness of life, moment-by-moment. We believe into this union with His death, burial, and resurrection. Thus, we gladly pick up ourcross every day and follow Him.
In my recent book, "The seven Unions of Christ" this package is thoroghly discussed and the spiritual life we all want to live can be ours. It was promised us and is the goal of the Christian life.
