Daily Devotional Day 97

All humans operate from birth the same way from their spirit out, but influenced from outside in. Before salvation comes to us, the only influence we experience from God is from outside in through a revelation of God and nature and various ministries that teach and preach. We must consider that we are all born with a darkened spirit. In other words, because of the fall of Adam and Eve, we were separated from God. We are without any revelation of Him or who He is. They were in the garden without interruptions to His voice. We are born without that luxury. We have nothing inside of us from God except the breath of life all creatures are born with.

Genesis says that when He made us, He breathes His created life into us. We then become a living soul. Because we are born without any inner sense of God or His voice, we must be reached in the method in which we live before salvation from the outside in or through our five senses. Before salvation, although we may believe in God, we are alienated from God because of sin, and we do not have His Holy Spirit inside of us. He can not dwell with the sinful nature.

Because of this reason, we have no guidance from the Lord except what we get from the outside, whether it is the law of the Bible or Godly influence from His people. There is no voice inside or Spirit other than our own. We experience only self-talk. There is no God consciousness. We rely on outside information to live from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Many, unfortunately, settle for a faith that believes in God but never comes into a spiritual awareness inside. They continually need outside influence to keep them in a spiritual state. Once the outside influence is gone, they perish in this life. They use their mind to understand God more than their spirit. There is so much more God wants us to possess!

Ask the Holy Spirit to awaken your God consciousness! Ask for discernment between self-talk and His voice.
