Day 23

Often because we are in a hurry, we only process information from our soul. It takes a little longer to respond from the spirit. When we are born of God and He comes into our spirit, we gain the ability to sense the difference between our soul and our spirit. Until then, we live by reacting to life from the soul. That is mainly because we are bankrupt on the knowledge of how the human being truly operates. God created us and He is the only one we should consult regarding the laws of how we operate. He tells us and shows us this in His word.

Most people cannot differentiate between what is influencing them, their soul or their spirit. Some can sense the difference on a hit and miss basis. We often operate out of one or the other based on the urgency of the matter or on our spiritual health at the time. If we are in a hurry to react to something, we react from our soul and don't let it settle into our spirit before responding.

This is how we can get into trouble because we have no chance to reflect in our real person - our spirit or heart and the Holy Spirit never has a chance to talk to us. That is why many people bring big issues, situations and decisions to a time of prayer. Prayer gives them the time to seek deeper understanding and wisdom and respond from a deeper source. However, if we bring ALL thought to the obedience of Christ, we will have divine revelation all day every day!

Ask the Holy Spirit's opinion and His direction in everything you do today. He wants to guide you in the big and the small. Practice this principle and watch how He changes you from the inside out!
