When Jesus met Nicodemus (John 3), it was not a matter of dealing with sin (in fact, it is not mentioned) but of being born again. To be born again is to be made alive and sensitive to the Spirit of God for the first time through a rebirth inside. We receive a new nature, His nature.
When the Holy Spirit comes in, He joins our spirit and subsequently influences our hearing. He brings the voice of God with Him, for He is God. We can not enter the unseen world, the kingdom of God, without this experience. This is what Jesus was trying to say to Nicodemus. He said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation" (Luke 17:20).

Have you experienced being born again? If not, ask the Holy Spirit to fill your spirit. If yes, meditate on that experience, how it feels to sense Him inside. Nurture this feeling today by acknowledging His presence. Stop throughout the day and check in with Him. He is always with us!
