Our soul (mind, emotion, and will) is the place where salvation is often blocked and fought for. It is the battleground. It is where we fight for how our life is lived, whether by the spirit or soul. If there is a problem in the soul gathering information from outside, then we will have a problem analyzing and processing these pieces of information. Our soul acts as a filter for our spirit.

Our soul can color information with its beliefs. If it is dirty, it will give us flawed information, and we will be unable to process information correctly. Consequently, wrong decisions will lead to wrong results. Our soul must be able to let in information as purely as possible. Getting our thoughts, emotions, and will healthy is the first step.

Our five senses can be clouded by the condition of our soul. If we are depressed, everything we look at is depressing. If we are grateful, things look good. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the lens your soul is using. Ask Him to empower you to filter input with a clear lens.

Philippians 4:8

"Whatever is true whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence; if there is anything worthy of praise think continually on these things, center your mind on them and plant them in your heart. The things which you have learned and received and heard and seen in me practice these things in daily life, and the God who is the source of peace and well-being will be with you."
